Evidence Mapping Survey on Professional Development Programs and Courses in Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management

Introduction: A prepared and well-trained workforce is essential to reducing the loss of lives from health emergencies. However, it uncertain what should be included in common set core competencies for emergency disaster risk management (Health EDRM) workforce. The objective study provide evidence mapping existing professional development programs courses Health EDRM. Method: survey conducted using an online platform (Survey Monkey) was October November 2021. Experts EDRM Research Network including experts identified Delphi studies were invited join study. Participants ≥ 18 years age, had relevant experience education training programs. self designed questionnaire containing 28 questions four domains competencies; curriculum; gaps; work personal details used. Results: There 65 respondents 20 countries participating survey. Most worked academic institutions (60%), followed by government employees (19%), non-governmental organizations (7%). These have roles throughout cycle with 95% preparedness phase. For skills, managers competent planning, organizing, applying processes, establishing effective communication systems providing leadership. technical competencies, communications, hazard specific knowledge, communicable diseases frontline workers.
